By default, this plugin hides all functionality available in the new block editor (“Gutenberg”).

FAQ

Configurações padrão

When activated this plugin will restore the previous (“classic”) WordPress editor and hide the new block editor (“Gutenberg”).
These settings can be changed at the Settings => Writing screen.

Configurações padrão para instalação em rede

Existem duas opções:

  • When network-activated this plugin will set the classic editor as default and prevent site administrators and users from changing editors.
The settings can be changed and default network-wide editor can be selected on the Network Settings screen.
  • Quando não estiver ativado na rede, cada administrador do site poderá ativar o plugin e escolher opções para seus usuários.

It is in the main block editor menu, see this screenshot.

This plugin was sorely needed. Moving away from the classic editor as the WordPress default was a massive error by WordPress IMHO. This solves it instantly and painlessly.

Classic editor just gets the job done. Wouldn't use it for a complex layout but I wouldn't use Gutenberg for that purpose either. A complex layout should be built as a template using custom fields so that the customer cannot mess up the design.

Agree with everyone. The new blocks editor is CRAP, TOTAL GARBAGE. Almost made me quit using WP. This plugin saved it for me, for now, until WP will decide to remove it because it won't bring any money when others include the BOLLOCK editor in their THEME$ and ADDON$ So this plugin and bootstrap 5 and any crappy theme (all are crap ... black boxes, full of bugs and inconsistencies) I wish though to have more features in the toolbar. I remember the same editor to have lots of features in the past. But for now I know that what I put in I also get.

OMG the Blocks Editor is such an infuriating piece of hot garbage! It makes me regret ever setting up WordPress sites in the first place. NO HUMAN BEING WANTS EVERY LINE OF TEXT TO BE A SEPARATE ELEMENT WITH ANNOYING POP-UP MENUS, WORDPRESS. Thank you for this plug-in that restores the easy, logical, fun-to-use interface we all joined WordPress for. Please don't ever take it away.

This one star review is not because the plugin isn't doing what it's supposed to. It is because this plugin is required at all. Gutenberg is hopelessly awful and should be ripped out as the terrible idea it was. Forcing UI changes that nobody wants didn't do very well for Firefox, and it isn't set to do very well for WordPress. And forcing the change with one hand but giving it back with a plugin is a terrible way to do. Make Gutenberg the plugin.

I love this plugin and hope it never gets retired. All I have heard about the new block format is that is top hard to use and several are quitting their blogs because of it. Many of us chose WP because we are not tech-savvy and it was so easy to use. I have recommended this plugin to everyone who is frustrated and are thinking of quitting. Here is a message I just received from another blogger - I'm really struggling with the WordPress Block system. It takes me 4-5x longer to get a page ready to go live than it used to. And then, often the results don't look that good: skewed, too big, weird fonts etc. I'm too busy and too old to have my time and frustrations taken up doing it. And my hair is already too thin to pull any more out. I would think you would want more bloggers not less so I am hoping this plugin will remain active for those of us unable to go with the flow of Blocks.
