Site type selection on wordpress installation

Good morning
Recently I bought a domain and when wordpress was finished installing I noticed that in settings==writing==>default post type was blog without allowing changes. Hosting provider support informed me that this is set in the installation process. So I deleted a site from another domain and reinstalled wordpress. This time I selected portfolio as the site type and again it was set to blog in settings==writing==>default post type.
I would like to know if this is normal or is there a problem with my hosting?
