Can it find WordPress blocks from uninstalled plugins?

Yes, you don’t have to worry about whether a third-party plugin is installed or not. Find My Blocks will look at all your WordPress posts. Old block names are still stored within the post, therefore they will still be located and listed for you on the results page.

What Post Types does it search?

Find My Blocks will automatically determine which Post Types have the WordPress editor enabled. Therefore only the necessary posts will be searched. You’ll be able to identify which post type each block belongs to on the result page.

If it happens that you need to change from one block plugin to another, Find My Blocks makes it easy to first find where you used the old plugin so that you can update it and your content isn’t broken.

This is one of those plugins you never knew you needed until you found it. I build large sites with complex custom block libraries and it does exactly what it says on the tin – it helps me find all the blocks across the site and, more importantly, shows me which blocks are not being used. Grade A plugin – if you build large bespoke WP sites using vanilla or custom blocks, this is a must have.

Does what it says. Client installed two block plugins that do the same thing? Find My Blocks speeds up the maintenance cleanup task. Now confidently deactivating the plugin that’s not been updated in two years, knowing all content’s safe.

When my client decided to change calendaring providers, I used FMB to locate all the instances of a block and replaced them. FMB doesn’t automatically replace, but that’s a good thing. I just need to find what I’m looking for. The same client decided to change the color scheme, specifically buttons. Sure, changing the colors in Appearance->Customize works fine – unless there a more than button provider, as was my case. Luckily there were not very many, and I was able to also confirm that all of the ones I did not want were replaced. When I’m done with the replacing, I disable the plugin. For this client, I never know when something is going to have to be changed right away. So, thank you for developing a great plugin. It’s in my arsenal!
